Sponsoring Projects

Not a means of mass publicity, but one or two or a group of students working on a project for you will soon get around on the grapevine and help you to get to know our academic staff better.  The benefits to the company of supporting project work include value for money, profile raising amongst and assessment of potential employees, access to and assessment of our expertise etc.  For the student the main benefit is increased marketability through the experience of addressing a real problem.  The elements of support common to all kinds of projects are provision of a specification and any essential equipment that we do not have in house.  Beyond that, the need for allocation of a budget, second supervisor, for example, depends on the type of project .  As a general guide, specifications must be submitted about two months before the project is due to start.  All projects culminate in reports, which are presented to the supporting company and staff, and other students as appropriate.

Please discuss your project ideas with Alison Morey on 0121-414 4289 or by the other means of contact given at the top of this home page.
