Eleftherios Plakidis : Eleftherios Plakidis obtained his BEng and MPhil in the School of Electronic, Electrical & Computer Engineering at University of Birmingham in 2000 and 2004 respectively. Also he obtained his MSc with distinction at UCE in 2002. During 2005 - 2007 he worked for OTE, the Greek National Telecommunication Company, in the Wireless & Satellite Research laboratory. He participated as a testing engineer in several wireless access products performance evaluation projects. He developed several testing procedures, both for indoor and outdoor assessment of Wi-Fi access point (based on the 802.11-a/b/g/n) and WiMAX Base Stations and Subscriber Stations (based on the newly developed wireless broadband access protocol, 802.16-d/e/mesh). He wrote more than ten (10) technical reports for the OTE and participated on the deployment and management of the first pilot WiMAX network in the area of Athens, Greece. He was also part-time employed by the National Observatory of Athens, Institute of Geodynamics, as a Radar engineer during 2007-2008. He was responsible for the processing and analysis of SAR images in order to measure land subsidence using the Differential Interferometric techniques. He is currently a first year Ph.D. student in the Microwave Integrated Systems Laboratory undertaking research in the area of Synthetic Aperture Radars, Interferometric SAR and Differential InSAR and his main effort is focused on the application of the existing technologies on the newly introduced Space-Surface Bistatic SAR.
