Structure of Degree Programmes

Year 1 is common to all programmes. In order to continue to the second year, it is necessary to satisfy the progress requirements at the end of year 1. The first year mark does not count toward your degree mark.

Year_2 is also common for all programmes. It counts as proportion of your degree mark. In order to proceed to the third year, it is necessary to satisfy the progress requirements. Note that the requirements to qualify for year 3 of the M.Eng. are much tougher than the requirements to qualify for the third year of the B.Eng.

The major decisions are made at the end of the 2nd year. You decide which specialisation you want, and whether to take a 3-year B.Eng. or a 4-year M.Eng.

The weighting of the years in the calculation of the degree mark is shown below.
