Teaching
MSc
Module in Methods of Socio-cognitive Engineering
An introduction
to a systematic approach to the design of human centred technologies.
EEM4S
MEng/MSc Module in Interactive Systems Design
The module provides an introduction
to the design and evaluation of interactive computer systems. It covers
usability, usefulness and elegance, human-computer interaction, interface
design, computer graphics, and approaches to software system design.
A major part of the course is a guided design project which involves
learning and applying techniques for problem formulation, requirements
specification, activity and task analysis, design space formulation,
rapid prototyping and evaluation.
EE3J1
Module in Artificial Intelligence
This
module introduces the principles, problems and techniques of artificial
intelligence (AI). Topics include: simulating human performance, approaches
to artificial intelligence (symbolic, neural network, artifical life),
knowledge representation, expert systems, search, game playing. It
involves writing programs in POP-11, an advanced user-friendly AI
programming language.
