CCIR recommendation 601 specifies the the image format, acquisition semantics, and parts of the coding for digital 'standard' television signals. 'Standard' television being PAL, NTSC, or SECAM resolution. CCIR-601 includes the specification for the encoding of 4:2:2 signals.
