Dr Michael Spann

B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.

I am Senior Lecturer in Electronic, Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Birmingham.

I teach object oriented programming in C++ and Java and Computer Vision. I am currently senior first tutor which is my main administrative duty.

The lists on the left summarise various research projects in these areas. A list of my publications is also available.  Also, you can see the different courses I am currently involved with.

My  interests are mainly sporting. I am a keen squash player and play for Kings Heath in Birmingham who play in the Warwickshire Squash League.  I am a  Manchester Utd fan and regularly visit Old Trafford.  My other interests are sailing, skiing and walking/camping in our  great outdoors. To get a flavour of this and to see our almuni at play, check out some of the photos from our Lake District 2003 , Lake District 2004 , Lake District 2005, Lake District 2006 and Lake District 2007 trips.
